Manual Trans Solutions
Here's a quick question for the MT guys that go offroading. I have always seemed to have quite a bit of shifter movement when traveling over bumpy or un-even terrain. When I hit multiple bumps in a row, the shifter will end up moving from side to side about 1.5 to 2" in either direction. This is also accompanied by a banging. This has occured since the truck was brand new. My natural assumption is that the trans mounts need to be replaced with poly mounts.
Does anyone else with a MT have these occurances?

I think its the trans moving.

When I first got it, you did not dare hold on to the shifter going over rail road tracks, either your shoulder would throw out, or your hand/finders would be bruised. Now, I dont seem to have it shake that bad.
Seems interesting that it would do this on two trucks. Honestly I think it is just that we have alot of weight between engine trans and transfer case, that all that wants to jostle a little.
New bushings/mounts may really help it, does bulletproof make mounts for our engines and trans.
I have the same problem with mine and would like to find a solution. Also if I am in sand and there is nothing in the bed it is really hard to get the truck going again with out the rear wheels hoping really bad, and when that happens I can spread my fingers out and the shifter will end up hitting all of them.
