You have to install a seperate tailgate lock. I've found the locks online for around$ 40

I've got the same thing on my truck.. it can really take some abuse and still hold up.

Yeah you need a seperate lock. I was able to find an OEM tailgate lock at etrailer for $29 bucks shipped.
