Ceramics will eat your rotors, so be prepared to replace them next time around. I find semi-metallic to be the best trade off, especially since they grip good when hot and cold. I can live with brake dust since I wash the truck weekly and the wheels dont even get anything on them by that point.

X2....brake dust don't stand a chance on my truck with my weekly (sometimes bi-weekly) washings....lol

some other guy on here said they dont eat rotors because they are softer than the rotor itself

The truth. The most important thing is to do the job right. Resurface and or replace the rotors, wash them with soap and water then spray with brake cleaner, clean and lubricate the caliper pins and mounting surfaces, bleed the brakes untill clear and clean fluid runs out.

Doing the job right is almost more important than the parts you buy.

If you go through NAPA they don't carry ceramic brake pads for our trucks. Mine are going out now at 66k so I just got a price quote from them. $55 for each rotor and either $25 or $55 for the front pads.

yea but rockauto always has ridiculous shipping charges, that's how they afford to sell parts cheaper

did you check the shipping price on that?

Rockauto's $30 rotors only have a 90 day warranty.

Napa's are two years for $55 each and of course no shipping. But with brake pads it's gonna be around $134 at the cheapest; and $150ish for the better pads

If you get to snooping around don't be fooled by raybesto's "rebate" it's a grand total of $20 (not $40 unless you buy more than you need) which knocks the total cost down to around $145 for their stuff. But it's still cheaper if you include it.

*edit - raybestos has a 3 year warranty*
