Cool Loud Squeak - from Front end!

I have a loud squeak coming from the right front end of my 05 Dakota 2WD. When I go over bumps or push down on the right front end I can hear it.

Anyone else had this problem? I'm thinking it's in the linkages - but there are so many who knows which one??

Is there any way to lube the linkages w/o taking them apart?

Nothing can be services as far as lubing the front end. You need to inspect the sway bar bushings on the frame, and the sway bar links on the lower control arm. Inspect the link's bushings and ball joint. You need to inspect ball joints on the upper control arms and lower as well. Can't think of anything else that may squeak otherwise..

Sounds like lower ball joints to me. They make some nasty noise when they go bad, and its one of the only noises I could duplicate when bouncing the truck myself.

Thanks Guys,

That's what I was afraid of - everyone had a different answer so it can't be linked to one specific item. Bummer.....

I just had a shop fix my squeaking on the front end today. came out to 450 with labor and lower ball joints. I also had sway bar links, sway bar bushings, front rotors, shocks and struts replaced. If he would have started it earlier in the morning i would have gotten the ball joints dirt cheap from work but couldn't get them in today.

How many miles were on your truck? I just replaced my upper control arms myself due to bad ball joints, but it seemed like my lowers were still good. I had 54,000 miles.

I am kind of paranoid the lowers are shot.

I have like 65000 give or take a thousand. There wasn't a lot of play in my tie rod ends but there was enough. I live in a city but it's worse then country driving when I was living at my parents. According to the guy that installed everything the one shop replaced them with Moog lowers. They have the lifetime and are grease able so I'm gonna stay on that now. I got them from the store for the same price as summit has them.
