differance in 05-07 adn 08+ radios
title says it all
all the threads about aftermarket radios seem to be in 05-07 vehicles (radio with vol/tune semicircles
on my '10 the radio doesnt have these circles
do i still need a faceplate adapter? or are they iso mounted
anyone put a single din in their 08+ with a din dash pocket?
are the mitsu-raiders iso mounted?
i have a single din flipout screen from my old talon that i want to use
when its out it hides the vhf/uhf scanner mounted in the top din slot
thoughts/ideas?

Only thing I can suggest (not being too familiar with the look of the 08+ radio bezel) is if you have ever thought of painting it (I painted mine, and had never done anything like that before and it came out awesome, I couldn't stand the wood grain) and if you have hands on skills. I like to play with my dremel a lot and I am getting better at using it when I am working with plastics. If your concern is adding an after market radio and having the semi circles not filled in and looking crappy I would get a small piece of either PVC, Plexi, or some kind of similar density plastic from lowes or something, cut it to fit the circles, glue it in place, sand it smooth and paint over the whole thing to match and hide it. Down the road I plan on getting a MyGig nav system radio and I know that I will have to cut the bezel to get it to fit and that most likely there will be a little gap from the radio ***** left on the side. So when the time comes i will probably plan ahead and find someone selling their radio bezel cheap and fab it up to match the radio.
I dont know if that helps you at all, but hopefully maybe it will give you some ideas of what you can try.

there was another thread where someone glued the semicircles into his bezel to accommodate a double din but it involved making the whole larger as well, i was wondering if dodge had changed the radio height along with the removal of semicircles in the 08+ liine...you stating you would like to put a newer 'mygig' into your 05-07 dash makes me thing that the whole is the same size minus the circles

I didn't really shop around much, but when I originally priced it all out (assuming I do the install myself) with a MyGig Nav and all the harnesses and parts needed it was gonna cost close to $1,000 at least (keep in mind that included integrating a rear view camera and the LokPik system (that allows you to watch movies or use the rear camera while the truck is in drive).

On my 08 the OEM radio is a Double Din that slopes in the rear (SAT, CD Player) I installed a Jensen VM9424 and had to play with the mounting brackets to get the right fit so I didn't have to cut the bezel.
Also there is a metal support that the OEM radio slides into that I had to cut the top part of it out in order to get the Double Din Head Unit installed.
I don't think you would have a problem installing a single din with a dash pocket if you decided to go that route.
Something to keep in mind is when playing video is the ability to change the sound in the movie from 5.1 surround to 2 ch stereo. Since most movies are created with 5.1 surround sound in mind our trucks don't have a center channel. You'll hear the background noise but the voices of the main characters will be really hard to hear. You might check over at the MyGig forums and see if there is a fix or update for it.
Good Luck

That's a good question. For my Jensen I had to contact support to find out how to change it through the Head Unit, because even when I selected the option on the DVD menu it still wanted to play as 5.1 surround sound.
