I love on the sticker where it's $590.00 for the Next Gen V8 engine like it is some special awesome upgrade. Then a little farther down you have the Sports Plus Discount of -$590.00. Looks like a classic sticker fleecing to me.

LOL, I also remember bitching about how they charged me for floor mats. I told them they could keep them. And they also changed for the tires and wheels twice on the printout.

I ended up paying $18,345 for the truck when all said and done.

I am also pretty sure this was the first year the Dakota had the 4.7 over the 5.2 or 5.9.

I've been paying more attention to this and it really does appear to just be a crappy factory tune. Not sure how quickly the PCM switches to closed loop operation but for about the first 5 minutes of driving the problem isn't there.

The motor actually feels VERY strong and responsive the first few minutes of driving. It'll almost roast the tires leaving a stopsign first thing in the morning.

And almost like flipping a switch a few minutes after the first drive as it warms up the power just goes away and you can feel the surging coming back while accellerating. I'll have the dealer check into it when it is time for the first oil change.
