Default 265/70/17's

Anybody have any problems with rubbing with 265/70/17 tires?

I'm looking at a set for winter wheels and don't think it would be a problem, but want to be sure. It would be with a 25 offset wheel.

I know a few of you guys are running 265/75/16, which is the same size, just looking for any additional info. I'm going to pick up a great set of wheels for the winter tomorrow.

What's ur stock offset? My stock offset w/ 265/70/16 is -12 mm and I'm running 0 offset and had some trimming to do. So that may cause some major rubbing issues and big time cutting. But who knows. Good luck!

I'm going with 285/65-17 after I get the 2" spacers on (if Ruger ever removes them...lol)

I'm gonna be using a stock offset, 25. I'm guess I'm going to test fit them on the front wheels before I buy them. With my 285 20's on there now, I'm thinking that should have involved enough trimming. We'll see tomorrow, I just don't want to drive 75 miles for nothing though.

dodgedad80 --> You're 0 offset would never work for me, that I'm sure of.

Yes stock rims. dont know the offset. that size tire is exactly 0.8" taller and 0.8" wider than the 265/65-17 on there now. (gives me 31.35" tires) I dont think there will be an issue. correct me if I'm wrong.

Your offset should be 25.44mm, it should be stamped on the back of your rims. I see the 285/65/17's as a 31.58" size, the 265/70/17's I'm looking at are 31.60". Your 285's will be a little wider though, hopefully they will both fit ok.

Great news (for me at least). I picked up 265/70/17 Firestone Winterforce tires mounted on the coveted Dodge Ram 'Offroad Wheels', which are in great shape. I've always loved these wheels, and the tires were only used for one season, so they are basically brand new. They fit on fine, due to the trimming that I've already done to fit on my 285/50/20's. The rim is 17" x 8", with an offset of 25.4mm. So I am all set for winter now, sweet! Some pics for your viewing pleasure.

Here are my summer & winter tires side by side. They are the same height, both just over 31.5".

Now I don't have to buy a set of winter tires for the 16" Dakota TRX wheels that I just bought. Of course I will be selling them shortly.
