Just checked the gap after buying a gap tester. The Autolite 3922 were gapped to 34. HUH. LOL, waaaay off.

I ordered another set of the stockers (Champion RC7PYCB4). Will install tonight. They are gapped at 44 currently.

I put in some new champions and I didn't check the gap either, all I can say is the 12 city I was getting went up to about 15 city and I now get about 19 highway. Its obviously not the exact same engine but still nearly identical.

Ya. Def check your gap before putting ANY plug in.

The Autolite 3922, was gapped to .034 out of the box.
The Champion RC7PYCB4, was gapped to 0.044 out of the box.

I always thought that if you bought a plug, for your specific application, it would be gapped properly. clearly not.
