Default '05 RAQ Radio firmware update?

Sorry if this has been asked and answered but I haven't been able to find anything on this with a search so... I have an '05 QC Laramie V8 4x4 with the factory 6 disc RAQ radio. I wanted a nice clean iPod integration solution so I bought the iSimple ISCH-73 adaptor kit, unfortunately it's not working properly. This adaptor "tricks" the head unit into thinking you have the "VES" DVD system installed and plays your iPod or an aux device through RCAs on that input. After I installed it I cycled through the mode button and the new DVD option is there but it just flips back and forth from Chp1 to Chp2 (chapters I guess?) and doesn't play or charge the iPod, actually the iPod flashes on and off like it was being plugged and unplugged. After troubleshooting the install with their tech support we decided the adaptor was bad and I exchanged it, well the new one is doing the exact same thing. I called them back and they said the only thing they can think of is either I have a bad head unit or it needs a firmware update. So before I go buy a new head unit does anyone know if there is an update available and if so how do I go about getting it? I'm afraid the answer is going to be take it to the dealer which I'd like to avoid... Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me.

I have the EXACT same problem you have in my 2006 Raider with the RAQ unit. DVD comes up and just flips between chp1 and 2 with the ISCH unit. I too have called support and have tried replacement units per their advice. No luck. A firmware update seems plausible but I too am not interested in the dealer and shelling out tons of money. We may be out of luck.

I can't help you with your iSimple product, but I did just install a LogJam aux adapter kit. It does the same thing and fools the HU into thinking the rear seat DVD is installed. Our iPods work fine using it.

Thanks for the replies, swapped the head unit with an identical "new" one off eBay and I'm still having the same problem. Off to the dealer, wish me luck...

PS - RAQ radio for sale!
