Question Air conditioning question???

So, my air condenser was busted, and I have bought another and going to put it in. Is there anything else I should do before installing it? I know I will need to have it recharged and a vaccum, but should I replace the evaporator or anything of that matter while I am working on it? I do not know much at all about A/C work, but I will have a shop vaccum and recharge it. Thanks!

If it was open to atmosphere, replace the evaporator and orifice as well.

Flush, flush, flush. Its the most important part. If one shaving stays in the system it can mess up the whole thing. Also change the accumulator and liquid line for best performance. Most places wont offer warranty if only the compressor is changed.

Accumulator is what I meant...or whatever that part is that acts like a desiccant drier...

You will also need 7oz of PAG 46 compressor oil. 1/2 goes in the suction side of the compressor and 1/2 goes in the new accumulator. Before you add oil pour out the shipping oil in the compressor. Did I mention flushing the system? A proper a/c job is 50% prep and 50% quality parts.

Also known as a receiver or drier. It removes humidity from inside the system. If its bad tge ac wont be as cold.

You sir would be paying more attention than I. Guess thats what I get for trolling the forums at work.

A new accumulator and a flush with nrw oil is still recommended for best ac performance.
