Default for those of you who painted your rims

i painted mine about 2 months ago (black obviously) but have found it hard to keep them clean..i used a special wheel paint from autozone over a primer and then clear coated them. currently i'm washing them with some wheel cleaner by black magic and also with the extra soap after i wash the truck. anyone have any better methods of keeping them clean? its mainly brake dust and sh*t from puddles. thinking of buying that armor all wheel protectant to use after i clean them.

I bought that wheel protector. It lasted like 2 weeks. Not worth the money if you ask me. Maybe works on chrome better.

they appear to be more dirty (than usual) because your wheels are black. you can wax them to fill in the microscopic pits that dirt can stick to but like my black truck, it'll still get dirty just hours after you wash it.

Buy better brake pads. The more expensive ones will dust less.

I used bed liner on my wheels and lucky me you can't even see the brake dust against the textured surface of the bed liner.

With semi metallic pads there isnt much you can do about brake dust except for wash the truck. I tried the wheel protectant; wasnt impressed. I use Wesleys Bleach White to clean my wheels and tires and it works wonders. Turns my BFG white letters bright white and pulls brake dust off the wheels like nothing. All it takes is a light rub with a wash mit.

Autozone, Advance, or a hardware store. Its a white bottle and costs about $4. I've tried wheel cleaners and tire cleaners and nothing has worked better than this stuff.

I Plasti-dip(ed) mine and clear coated them. If they get dirty I spray them down with water and they the dirt washes right off
