It amazes me how many people post or say that they love Rancho shocks and hate Monroes, or vise versa. They are BOTH Tenneco shocks and come out of the same factory. As are MOST of the generic, white tubed shocks with stickers on them like Pro Comp, Skyjacker, Tuff Country, Rough Country, etc.

I had Rancho 5000s on my 2nd Gen Ram and thought they were fine. Have Rancho RS9000x on my 3rd Gen and really like them.

I won't ever condemn anyone for using a Bilstein either, nice ride and most love them. But I had a set on my 2nd Gen Ram, blew one during a day of hunting on some pretty severe trails, nothing crazy and speeds not much over idle. Only had about 300 miles on the shock, so I assumed it was probably bad out of the box and the first time it got put thru any paces over normal road driving it failed. No problem - right? WRONG, place where I bought them refused to honor warranty because I installed them myself. Contacte Bilstein who had no problem with me installing them, BUT they refused to honor warranty because it failed OFF-ROAD! AN OFF-ROAD MARKETED SHOCK NO LESS! So I got pissed, removed the other three and sh*t canned them. Bought the RS5000s.

Like I said, I'd never condemn anyone for using a Bilstein, but I won't ever buy another set because their customer service sucks *****, or at least did in the late '90s...

Do you have an idea of the brands of possible future lift kits? So I can keep my eye out for them.
