Default Drive By Wire

All this talk about aftermarket throttle bodies has gotten me hot and bothered. So I e-mailed hipotek to see if they plan on offering one for a drive by wire system for the guys like me who have an 08+ 4.7. I know fastman does but after some of the idle problems I've read about I would rather try hipotek if they are going to offer it. I'll let you know when I hear something back.

I hope he sends you something back. From what I understand, the biggest problem with the DBW throttle bodies is the cost of the core itself. If they dont have someone sending them in, they have to buy them, along with keep them in stock which can hold up some funds for a long time.

You might want to post over in the ram section to get peoples experiences with the DBW modified TBs, if there are any at all.

This is his response about the drive by wire .

Hey Shane,

At this point I am not doing the drive-by-wire. However, I may see if I can find a core and determine what I can do with it.

Richard

It kinda sucks, I had a bbk throttle body on my 00 dakota along with cat back duals, cai, and superchips and that thing would act like it was shot out of a cannon. Someday soon hopefully we'll get one.
