Default anyone with 2008 intake mani!!!

I have a boosted '05 4.7l with a 2008 intake manifold. Due to this i had to cancel out the egr valve. Problem is this left an open port in the manifold. Under vacuum its fine how i have it plugged but now that I'm sending boost through it, thebung blows out and my engine accelerates uncontrollably. How have you guys sealed the port in your intake.....perminately?!

With the EGR port, cant you put a plate over it and run 2 bolts through it, with nuts on the inside of the manifold? Or does the 2008 not have 2 mounting bolts for the egr tube? I know the 2005 manifold does.

Ah, its just a plastic hole, I wouldn't trust forcing a threaded nut into it seeing as it has no threads its self. Especially under boost. I have a shut off plate where the egr mounted to the block but its vent tube just plugs into the manifold using an o ring and the vacuum from the engine. If I could find a pvc tube and cap that fits in it, id cement it in and forget about it, but its such an odd size.

I think the manifold is nylon reinforced plastic. Get a rod of the same material and the correct adhesive.

personally i would try and drill the first 1/2in or so out so its a perfect circle and use a threaded pipe plug in it and seal it with teflon tape
