Default HID Question/Problem

I just installed a set of 6000K HIDs in my 06 dak. They work great at first but after they have been on for awhile and i shut them off they will not turn back on again. Then i have to wait with the truck off for about 6-7 mins and they will turn back on. Is it common for these things to have to cool down or something before they will start? has anyone heard anything about using resistors? i read about them on some other car forums. i tried searching HID on our forum but wasn't getting any results

I had the same problem. I put a capacitor specifically made for HIDs on my truck and they worked fine after that. Just make sure the ballasts arent in an area exposed to alot of heat or water. Both are rat poison to HIDs.

any pictures of the HID's installed? I'm curious how well the headlights throw the light/illuminate the road.
