Paint care preferences
I know that many people have different preferences on wax and polish for their vehicles but I thought I would throw this question out anyway. I just bought my '05 Dakota, Black, and was wanting to know what wax all of you prefer for a new vehicle? I really want to keep my new truck looking good and have been looking at all the different waxes available. Wow, what a choice people have now days. Also, I have the aluminum wheels and getting some brake dust on them that has to be removed by hand. Is there a cleaner and protectant you could recommend for the wheels. Finally, the black on the bumpers, is it alright to use armor all on them to protect them since they can't be waxed, or should I use something else?
I use Mother's for wax & I do use armoral for the bumpers as well.My wife bought me the "Mr.Clean" auto dry,man that thing is pretty Awesome!!!It really works.
BTW w/ that Black truck what do you use to hide you're swerll marks.

My truck is only about 4 weeks old at this point, so I'm not sure about the swirl marks in the paint yet. I haven't even waxed it at this point. I paid to have the extra paint and clearcoat protection put on the truck at the manufacturer. They told me not to wax it for a month or two after getting that. It's supposed to be a protectant that seals the paint and clear coat for about 3 years. Not sure if this stuff is any good or not, but I wanted to protect it. I have never heard of the Mr. Clean auto dry, but I will definitely check it out. I was leaning toward either Mothers or Mcguire's.
Thanks for the info

For swirls, minor scratch removal, and sealer/glaze = Mother's Sealer Glaze
For topcoat, longevity, and protection = Mother's Pure Carnuba
I've actually laid down a coat of the NXT Tech Wax and laid Mother's over the top of that - it glows.
Zaino is nice, but is very limiting. You have to order it and if you run low or are out of town and you want/need to detail you're screwed. I personally believe Zaino is about 50% performance and 50% hype. I used it for a few seasons and it was good, but it wasn't all that.
Be advised, I detail my cars A LOT. I'm mean, a ridiculous amount. My RAM and my G probably get a coat of wax once a month. They get washed and 'misted' once a week with Mother's Quick Detailer. Dust can't even settle they're so slick.
Also, I can't recommend micro-fiber towels enough. They are gentle on the clear coat, produce a dust free shine, and polish better than any standard cotton towel I've ever seen.
