Question Need help with possessed tranny

2005 v8,4x4, auto. Transmission will go into a "neutral" state when in any gear. The "N" button inside next to the 4 wheel dial will light red and I have to push it in to clunk back into gear. Sometimes it will go into 4 LO all by itself. Also, the tranny, transfer case will make noises even when shut off, kind of a ziping sound. Not sure what to make of it.

Anyone expierence this before?

Thanks for any help, I'm not sure what to make of it.

We need a young priest, an old priest, and a bucket of holy atf+4 tranny fluid.

Sounds like a malfunctioning 4x4 switch. If its shorting out for some reason intermittently that would be your reason for going in and out of neutral.
