Default Aftermarket HU NO sound

Hello everybody. Been lurking for quite a while now. I just bought a double din HU for my 2006 dakota SLT. I dont know much about the audio systems in these trucks. Mine is apparently the alpine system. I have been searching the internet trying to figure it out.

So I have and aftermarket radio with a axxess xsvi-6502 harness adapter. The radio has power and everything works fine except the sound. I have the blue wire on the harness connected to the blue wire on the radio. There is a blue/white wire on the radio that is not being used but it is not on the main radio harness. The blue wire on the main harness is solid blue. The packaging on the xsvi6502 says its for systems without factory amps or with intent of bypassing factory preamps.

So does the alpine system have a preamp and if so can I just bypass it somehow? Any advice would be very helpful. Thank you very much

Yes, the Alpine system has an amplifier. the only way to by-pass it is to run new speaker wires.

Its probably easier to buy the right adapter, than track down the activation wire.

Thanks a lot for the reply. Thats what I was thinking. Looking at the factory truck harness, it doesnt appear to have any grounds for the speakers. I'll take the harness back tomorrow and get the one for the alpine system. Hopefully thats takes care of it.
Thanks again. I dont feel like running all new speaker wiring.
