Default Stupid CAI question...

On our stock air intakes, what is the 1" rubber hose? What is its pupose? Not the main intake hose, but the smaller one connected to it.

Its the valve cover breather hose. You can either connect it to the cai, make a oil catch can there is a write up about it. I think its in the FAQ section or put a little filter on it like I did

Yep, emissions crap. Used to was it just dissipated into the air, but we can't be having them greenhouse gases no more, so they re-route it back into the intake system to gunk up the throttle body and kill performance rather than kill the atmosphere. LOL...

Any of the three choices mentioned above will work, but the last one I'd choose is to route it back into my intake...

I routed the breather and pcv systems into a catch can.

Wink

ok, thanks. The reason I was asking was mine had developed a kink, so I put an elbow in it, and now the truck seems to run the 1/4 a lot better. Maybe its just me...

I have not noticed any build up in my intake or tb from mine.
