Brakes squeaking on my dak
Hey Folks,
I am having my brakes squeaking. They were new when I got my truck few months back. I am not sure if they just need cleaning but man are they noisy. Before I go back to the dealer wanted to know if I should bother or not. Are they usually noisy?

Wonder if they put any anti-squeek paste: http://www.amazon.com/OES-Genuine-Br.../dp/B001G7NFGC
But to answer your question, your brakes should not squeek.

Love how that stuff is called Anti-Sequel paste. Sounds so wrong.
Anyways, Brakes should not make any noise unless they slotted, then you might hear a slight click sound as the pad passes the slotting.
Your problem is a simple fix, just add grease, or RTV to the back side of the pads where they make contact with the caliper piston on the inside pad, and the caliper adapter bracket on the outside pad. Its also a good idea to add a bunch of grease to the pad retaining clips.
The noise you are hearing is not the pad to rotor, its the pad vibrating against the caliper pistons, or the adapter bracket.
