how many quarts to refill 2 when changing tranny gasket and filter on a 2008 dakota

how many quarts to top off transmission after changing gasket and filter only.4.7 magnum v-8

I dont know about a 2008 but my 2000 calls for 10qt with a 42 RE trans. I think when I did it I had to put in about 9 qt

thanks i got a 08 quadcab.nice lil truck.had 05 silverado extend cab hurricane irene dropped tree on it an totaled it in august bought 08 dakota quadcab with 4.7 magnum.like it.

I wanna say its 6 but don't quote me on that the gasket is is rtv the dealer has it for about $5

Just did my 08 and it took every bit of 7 qts. Filters come with a new gasket, don't use RTV it's not the right application for a new model transmission pan.
