Default stripped threads on the lower control arm

Ok. So I put the lower control arms and balljoints on. I looked today to make sure everything was tight. Come to find out the right side threads are stripped but I can tighten the nut and I see metal shreds in between the nut and bolt...there for I think when I really tighten it I cross threaded it and yea...

So what do I do.

What did or didn't I do so I know next time.

Thank you guys

If they're not too bad, you can chase the threads with a tap and dye set. Its a good idea to snug everything by hand first. If there is much resistance, clean the threads, etc before you torque.

whatever is stripped and you can't "chase" the thread you will have to replace it

Rockauto will be getting back to me monday about this. My third return from one order. wtf. I've found out that the nut has three little indents at the ends of the thread. So when you screw it onto the bolt for the lower ball joint it actually strips the threads. So I'm at a lost for words. MEVOTECH IS JUNK.

isn't that so the nut won't back out on it's own? as in, once you install it you can't easily remove it?
