Default Vibration in rear end

I have a new 2011 Dakota with a vibration that I cannot figure out.

It occurs the worst at aound 30 MPH and around 60 MPH. The vibration is in the rear because I can feel it in the arm rest rather than the steering wheel. I have had the balance checked at the dealership and everything else was fine.

I have not had a truck in awhile, so this may just be a characteristic of a truck, or a characteristic of a dakota. Nevertheless, it seems almost like the truck is vibrating over every little bump in the road. I know that the suspension is stiffer in the rear, but I put 400 lbs of water softner salt in the back today and it was still there, so I am not sure that it is just how it rides unloaded. It also seems to be worse under light throttle.

Would changing out the shocks for better quality help?

I know Dakotas had problems with the rear brakes and vibration, but that seems to be a few model years ago and should be resolved. Any thoughts before I trek off to the dealer?

People,

I checked for any known issues on the symptoms you describe. Only thing I could find was a TSB which I will list below. It indicates a "shudder" during acceleration. Not sure if this will help you or not but I am posting it just in case. May want to have the dealer investigate if this applies to your vehicle and symptoms.

sounds like warranty work. Take it to the dealer and have them fix it, whatever it is.
