Door panels with a new look
Thanks for the comments. It was an even brighter blue at first, but the clear coat I used dulled it down somewhat. I used krylon plastic paint for most of it. I had read of at least half a dozen having used it on interior plastics (none on a dakota, however) and it not having any problems four or five years down the road. I thought about stenciling something out in the larger black area, but I wasn't sure what would go best. I may go back and do that, but probably not until I get the rest of the interior finished.
That's like asking "what do you think?" Then not liking the views that aren't the same as yours.
Thanks. The peeling, as mentioned, will be the most important issue I think. I will post up pics months down the road to show how it has held up so if anyone else is thinking of painting an area like this, they can see how is has held.
In person, they look a little better because the matching bezel and seat covers. They do, however, look bad as a whole right now due to the center console being the color that it is. My girlfriend is supposed to be sewing me up a black cover of some sort, but who knows how long that will take. Anyone know where I could get a cover for the console with the opening top? I doubt I could purchase just that, but hey worth a shot.
Its ok, not my style, but I kind of agree with Eric, if the blue wasnt so bright I may have liked it, but hey atleast you are making it your own. No one can fault you for being different or trying it
