Default Trailer wiring- 12V and brake controller

I'm setting the wife's 2008 SLT up to do some towing and need to run a 12Vline and install a brake controller.

Every Dodge truck I've worked on since 1998 has had the blue port under the dash for the brake controller. Not seeing it anywhere on this truck. I do see a scotch lock on the brake pedal switch wiring from what I suspect is where the previous owner tied in a brake controller. Is it common for the Dakotas to not have the blue plug?

Should I just do it old style and run my own wiring?

I believe it's only the towing package equipped Dakotas that have that plug.

Hmm. Thought mine had the tow prep package but now that I look at the build sheet again it just says XFUS-"trailer tow w/4 pin harness". So I'm guessing it didn't get a full tow prep package. Its also got 3.55 gears and the HD suspension and HD duty shocks.
