Default Hood Aerodynamics

I dunno if anyone else has noticed this yet but I'd like to hear if anyone has encountered this...recently it has been kinda rainy where i am and i can be driving a long and a bit of water has accumulated on the hood maybe from sitting at a stoplight. Well you can drive along and the water will get trapped in the little channels that run up the hood, then when you come to a stop that water will be sucked back fly up all onto the winshield. Its really wierd cause it will almost spray on there...

I've also noticed when driving out on the highway a large % of bugs get sucked through whatever air channels those hood channels and i'll have like two areas of winshield bugs that come directly up from those channels.

I dunno but i think dodge thought more about aerodynamics in traveling than all of the elemnts it could encounter...leeding to some wierd consequences

I've noticed that too, but isn't that hood beautiful in spite of the problems? My brother-in-law bought a Durango a week after me and his hood is just so plain boring compared to the Dakota.

Water spray onto the windshield from the hood isn't exactly a big deal when it's already raining. I'll take good aero for the large fraction of the time it's not raining or buggy, and deal with water getting on a windshield that's already wet and bugs hitting a windshield that's already finding bugs.

I too have noticed the water thing & think that it's no biggie,I also feel that lot's of planing went into that design! When the water isn't getting flown onto the windshield it means you're truck is friggin dirty and need's a washin!!!So go wash it!

I think the hood's pretty Shaweeeeet!!! I like how the hood has that prominant 2-3" lift liner line above the front quarter's,it give's the truck some front flexing over the over all front end stance,I think it's pretty impressive!I kinda wish there was a factory hood scoop on it,kinda like a ram air induction now that would be even better, like this hood scoop.

I've been waiting for an after market hood myself. I want the one that's on the Dakota warrior when it finally comes out. But I want it to be "Functional"!
