I have a 2005 dodge dakota laramie 4 x 4. i seem to have an instrument cluster issue, specifically the temp gauge and the fuel gauge do not work. After messing around with it i think the problem is the instrument cluster itself. i have priced these from 100 bucks on up to 500. Where is a good spot to get one? and how do i know that i am getting the right thing? i see 3 diffrent numbers on the cluster but i dont know which one i need to use. any help would be appreciated.

Welcome tom the forum. When you say not working do you mean not al all, as in they stay on zero? Or are stuck at some point and never move? Did you check for a loose connection to the cluster? Disconnect the battery for a half hour or so (sometimes that works wonders for curing some random issues with these trucks)? There are clusters cheaper on ebay, here's one for $65.

Anytcluster from an 05 to an 07 should work. They changed them in the 08's. Again, welcome to DF.

 

So it desnt matter what the part number on the cluster is? That sure makes it easier. I will need it programmed afterwords right?
