Default 3.7 performance/tuning/programming

My truck needs a little more get up and go, and the only programmer i can find is the hypertech max energy, and it seems a bit overpriced for me.

Any suggestions to things i can do?

I plan on getting a K&n CAI and magnaflow exhaust as soon as i scrap together some cash.

I want a tuner, but i dont want to pay for the price. I also have the 3.7 but i did my own exhaust work. The original exhaust has 2 resonators and one muffler, and i removed one resonator and the muffler and it sounds reallllyy nice. And its still legal because you can still count the resonator as a muffler. I dont know how much power i got. It seems like a got more power, but then again that can just be the sound

Consider that the Max Energy for the 3.7L gives you 24whp and 24lb/ft...which is somewhere in the 28-29whp and lb/ft range at the crank...which is just shy of a 14% increase in PEAK horsepower. That, my friend, is worth the $390. The intake will only give you around 8-10whp. This is why I made my own intake.
