Default Conversion to natural gas

Somebody was calling into a talk show today and said he had a F-150 that ran on natural gas and cost him something like the equivalent of $1 a gallon. Can we do it too? What is involved I wonder.

I am sure we can beings that there are Civics and Cobalts with the kits in the DC area. I am assuming they have a kit beings they have stickers saying "Run By Natural Gas" or something like that

Looks decently legit for $800, http://www.ewsews.com/cngprices.html

used to be ford made a crown vic natural gas version. I looked at the specs and remember a terrible range and you had to go to the gas/utility company to refill. weak.

It's a very expensive aftermarket conversion. Everything has to be cleaned and repolished first (heads, pistons, cyls.). And anything that gets carboned or oily (pcv lines, egr lines, etc). Pretty labor intensive. $800 doesn't sound legit to me. Those nat gas vehichles come new from the factory, they are not aftermarket conversions.

$800.00 for the kit only.....then you need a tank and that is like $1200.00 or more, plus you need a certified shop to do your convertion and God only knows how much that would be!!!
