Default trans noise! do not like

k so i dunno if its normal or anything, but when i shift from park to drive or nutral to drive or into reverse it has a fairly violent engage, it seems normal but im worried it could be an issue.. when i say fairly violent i just mean i can hear the trans click into place but when i shift into a drive gear from nutral (reverse or D) theres a fast ticking sound as u hear it engage its not a bad sound either im just wondering if the really fast ticking sound is there on anyone elses truck, anyone got any ideas like i said its probably normal but i dont like it

All I hear sometimes is like a relay or something doing its thing. Check the fluid level.

assuming the fast clicking noise is the one i'm thinking, almost every modern (1990+) mopar auto makes that noise when shifting into gear.

w/the violent engage, is there a also clunking sound when you go from P->D, or are you only hearing the fast ticking?

Mine has done this since it was new too. Kind of a "whirrr...clunk" when going into gear and just a "clunk" going into park. I never really was too worried as it didn't seem too bad but now that you mention it, the sound is kind of disconcerting!
