The new Canadian Tire flyer has a nice section on Monroe shocks and struts, and a cross0check with the Monroe website (they also make the Ranchos apparently) shows that they offer the following struts for my 06 4x4:

- Reflex #71100
- Sensatrac #58650 (for towing and hauling)

Now, I don't haul and tow a heck of a lot but like most, I do so every now and then, and I will be towing a boat from time to time. The features of the Sensatrac are certainly appealing. The cost differential would be irrelevant in the big picture.

So I am wondering whether there would be any disadvantages to the Sensatrac vs the Reflex? Do we have any data on how the choices compare?

Also - I will be asking my local for a quote to buy/install. Specifically what other parts should I suggest be included - such as mounting kit (?) or whatever. I am no more familiar with the nether regions of the truck than I oughta be . . .

 

Are those the load Leveler shocks, Canadian Tire told me they are $180 EACH. I bought them online for $150/pair shipped. (I think they are only sold as a pair)
They also couldnt even order the Monroe 271100 Quick-Strut Complete Strut Assembly. It was in the system, But they just couldnt order them apparently.
I didnt even bother asking if they could order the Monroe 71100 Reflex Strut was a waste of my time even going.

I can buy the #271100 from the same company I bought my shocks from on Ebay (They also are a seller on Amazon) He just said they could be months still. He priced me 2 Reflex Struts, 2 Mounts for around $100 cheaper then they had on ebay (Because shipping)
He also said the Shocks are on Backorder from Monroe untill the first or second week of next month.
I took next week off work to do work on my truck, But I think Ill still have enough todo without the shocks.
