I'm at 105,000 kms and had Monroe Reflex struts installed yesterday (and a front right wheel bearing replaced). Everything else under there was in OK condition. I can't say what might have been replaced before I bought it at 95,000 kms.

Observed "bad" angles may be due to it being in the air and everything drooping. However, it does look like almost all of the boots are pooched. Once they go, dirt and grime and drying out accelerate the already-rapid demise of these parts. Sounds like my FederalMogul stock is going up a bit this weekend . . .

What is with these trucks? I got mine with 29K and by 38k I had replaced swaybar links, swaybar bushings, font and rear shocks, front brakes, tie rods, ball joint, control arms. Now its squeaking in the front again over bumps. I need to get rid of this thing ASAP.

Thought I would snap some pics of mine since it's been awhile since I installed the 2.5" kit. The angles of the tie rods/ball joints do not look extreme. The axle shaft and inner tie rod boot are angled a bit. I know they are "designed" to be perfectly straight, but this does not look extreme to me. Maybe I'm in denial...lol

So I should replace...?
  • Outer Tie Rods
  • Upper Ball Joints *Do I need to replace the entire upper arm for that?
  • Sway Bar Links
Tell me if I'm missing something sorry lol I know I saw someone said to lowers but if the boot isnt torn should i worry about it? also how hard are these things to replace? I'm guessing relatively easy?

yes on the entire upper arm.
they werent too bad. & the outer tie rods & sway bar links are fairly simple.
add the lowers, struts & a level kit then you got a full project on your hands then.

Ok thanks man, and I was thinking about getting new struts in front (Rancho RS5000) and in the back (Monroe Coilovers), however I dont have the tools to do the front struts

And should i do the lower arms while am it? The boots aren't broken so I'm guessing not? I just don't want to spend a lot of money
