Default 2006 Dodge Dakota 36K

My Dakota has only 36,000 mi on it. I just learned that the front sway bar is completely broken; front and back links are broken, that the lt. half shaft rack & pinion is leaking and the rear differential is locked. It is past warranty and Chrysler tells me there is no recall. I am looking at a $2000 repair bill. This cannot not be common and has certainly been dangerous driving around like this. I am not a mechanic. But I want this to be covered by the company and reimbursed in some way! Is this common for these few miles???

I have said this once and I will say it again... write a.letter to chrysler... if you tell them what you are dissapointed with and are willing to bring it to a chyco dealer you may get somthing done.

You will need to supports that everything you did to it did not help it break down.

I am not saying stick it to the man. But let them know this is not acceptable

Are you the original owner (did you buy it new)? If so, you might have a leg to stand on.

If not, then you are out of luck. It is a six year old truck, and the previous owner may have abused the heck out of it or not done proper maintenance, or both, causing most or all of these problems.

Yes, what's the history on the truck? That will help us give you the right advice.

Good luck trying to get anything out of them, trust me I tried with a rot issue on my 06 they told me it was self inflicted, what a crock of you know what. I even spoke to a supervisor about the problem. If your warranty is up, it's up no matter what.

I bought my truck at 46k miles, and i also had to replace the sway bar links, tie rod ends etc etc, before it hit 50k miles. My suggestion would be to talk to chrysler and then if that doesnt work, you can always threaten to call the BBB (better business bureau) and voice your complaint. and when they do the repair, definitely get Moog sway bar links, im pretty sure our stock suspension system is just rubbish anyways. But definitely mention the BBB if things get rough, even if they take 25% off your repair bill thats better than nothing. good luck
