Default Drive shaft

I was told that my front drive shaft has a bad ball joint by the transfer case. Does anyone know the name of this part, and where I can get one. Maybe a video of someone replacing one?

Either that or a CV Joint.

Post some pictures up so you can recommend the right parts.

Crawl under the truck and try to move the drive shaft up/down, back/forth and watch the joint at each end to see which one has play. You have one that's a standard U-joint (single cardan style) and one that's a Constant Velocity (CV) joint. If you're not going to change it yourself, the garage you take it to for a quote will tell you which one it is & how much for parts & labor.

If it is in fact the CV joint that comes out of the Transfer case, it's fairly simple to replace. The part will run you roughly $115. I just replaced one on my truck.
