Funny thing is, I'm at 160K and have no clue weather mine have been replaced or not. I drive off road alot, and it seems pretty solid to me. I just seems like something else needs to break. Alot money going into the Dak in the coming months.

The OEM struts were junk from the factory. I was ready for a change at 5k, did them at 45k, and regreted waiting so long once I did the swap.

Is there anyway to tell if you still have the original shocks?

I was trying to get new struts from the Dodge dealer under warranty, and that was one of the reasons that they said no. Even after a test drive, they said the truck rode fine. I would say it was unsafe at time the way the front end would bounce along. I'm thinking they did me a HUGE favor, went with the Ranchos and still say it is the best money spent on my truck. Without question!

Probably not easily... you'd have to crawl under there and see if you can find any brands or part numbers. If you still can't tell, I believe the two that came from factory were black and red. If you have a heavy duty package or TRX or TRX4 they had red shocks and struts. Otherwise they're black. Ranchos are white with the red dust boots (I think the strut doesn't have the boot), the Monroe load bearings are black and have a coilover spring on them, the Monroe quickstrut and reflex struts are black, and the reflex shock is gray. There's always the outside possibility they were repainted as well.
