Greetings folks,
Just looked at a 2005 Dakota I'm looking at possibly buying. I took it for a ride today but i have a question.
Does the 4wd switch have a light on it or any other lights on the dash that illuminate when the 4wd is engaged? I turned the **** but no lights (that i noticed) however i could hear something under the truck click/engage.
I have a 97 Dakota but not familiar with the 3rd Gen's.
Any info you can give is a huge help.

Yeah, the 4LOCK will illuminate on the dash. It is located just below the fuel gauge (see below). If it blinks steady, there is a problem, if it doesn't illuminate, still a problem.

You also have to give it time to engage. Just flipping the switch back and forth probably won't make the light come on.
