Default wheel bearing/superchips tuner

i need to replace my right front wheel bearing. i was wondering if u need to mess witht the tire rod cuse i dont want to mess wth the alinement. also i just bought a superchips tuner and love the performance selection. but the gas saver selection is not saving me a whole lot. it has long shifts and i think thats why my gas droped alot. how can i mess with the shift points and are there updates i can get for the tuner?

If the tie rod is bad, I would replace it since you have to remove it anyway for the wheel bearing (I think). Gas saver in SC does nothing. It's a waste of a tune, IMO. Try the tow tune. I found it much better than the performance tune. Better shifting and you don't really have to run premium gas. If you want to mess with the shift points, you have to buy the transmission package and there is a sticky with some custom tunes that myself and another member made. I used to run the performance tune with my custom transmission tune, but I found that the tow tune shift schedule was a tad bit better than the one I wrote, so I just used that one. Try the tow tune first and see if you like the shifting better. Here is the sticky about the custom trans tuning if you decide to go that route:

As far as updating the tuner, just connect it to your computer and start the sc app. It should update your tuner automatically as soon as it connects. To sum up the trans tuning package, I think the tow tune has the best shifting and if I had known that, I would not have spent the $40 for the trans tuning package.

you dont have to remove the tie rod end from the steering rack, truthfully you dont even have to remove it from the spindle if you are 2wd
it is a heck of alot easier though.

if you are a 4x4 you might as well remove the tie rod from the spindle since you have to pull the axle.

ive changed the wheel bearings... its not that hard.
