Just did a cam position sensor on my truck at the beginning of summer. Engine light came on and the truck ran fine but the code was a faulty cam sensor. Replaced it and the code went away and the truck ran great. Jumped in my truck to head to class today and my engine light came on and my truck actually went into limp mode. Limped it to the automotive shop we deal with and he tells me its the cam sensor. I hope this doesn't become a reoccurring deal. My stomach always drops when that light comes on and I hear that ding!

 

Could be the wiring. The code you're getting is either the computer isn't getting a signal or the signal is intermittent. I also can't remember if this is one of those parts that's better to get if the dealer if you haven't tried that already. When I had this issue they replaced my cam sensor at the dealer, but they also had to check the wiring.
