Default TPMS rebuild kits with new wheels?? 2008+

i have a 2008 dak 2wd v6 and i just ordered leveling kit. i have the tires and i also ordered new wheels.. i got 17 inch wheels and i know the 08+ trucks have Tire pressure sensors in all the tires. will i be able to swap these over to the new wheels without buying a tpms rebuild kit for each one? discount tire is saying i need to rebuild each one. about an extra $35 just for the rebuild kits to put sensors in the new wheels. anyone else have experience with this?

You poor bastards with those sensors! I'm so happy that I don't have 'em.

See if you can get the dealer to turn them off, haha

The sensor that were on the 2010 Dakota rims I bought used, were very easy to remove and reinstall, no rebuild kit required. But I also didnt need them and sold them to a guy with a RAM who had replaced 3 of them in a year.

Installed in Rim:

Removed

The Valve stem part swivels up and down, so it can fit different styles of rims.

I know it's an old post...
If I buy new tires (Keeping stock with the OEM wheels) do I have to buy new TPMS or any way to damage them while changing the tire?

i swapped tires without buying new sensors. they might just recommend a rebuild kit. they are like 7 bucks per sensor. just make sure you get someone you trust or just go to discount tire. they break easily.

So it's recommend not to switch the position of the wheels right?

It doesn't matter with the sensors.
