Default cylinder management

I looked around at some other threads but didn't see anything precise to what I am looking for. I was wondering if there is a chip for 05 4.7 engines that when cruising on the highway will shut down cylinders to conserve gas that anyone would recommend.

I think theres a mechanical system involved, as in keeping deactivated cylinder valves open. Just shutting the fuel to a couple cylinders probably wouldn't do much good.

I've never heard of a chip that shuts down any cylinders on the Dakotas. I would think that unless your engine is designed to run on less cylinders, it wouldn't be a healthy thing for it.

4.7L does not offer the Multiple Displacement System. If a chip or flash did it, it would be bad for the motor. The four cylinders used while cruising on the highway would have premature cylinder and piston wear in comparison to the other cylinders. The Hemi has MDS but it doesn't do much. Superchips is capable of deactivating it though

Back to the drawing board for fuel saving ideas. I was actually hoping to that there would be a straight bolt on small displacement diesel like a 2.5 or 3 liter. Have to do more research.

Theres a lot of fuel saving products that are scams. Then theres the legitimate tried and true things like exhaust/intake/tuning that will probably never pay for themselves in fuel savings but make the vehicle perform better.

No such thing, from a tuner. One would need the mechanical design (like the Hemi's) that change valve events, so half of your pistons dont act like air pumps (counter productive).
