Default bank 2 sensor 2

Hey guys, been having problems with my O2 sensor, first shop messed it up really bad, and jammed the wrong one in there creating voltage of 1.7- 2, and they replaced it with bosch, but this has made it worse. I got 14.5 mpgregular with the broken o2 sensor, and now im getting 12.5mpg, now i think im just going to get the stock one,

is the NKT the way to go?

I dont understand why diffrent 02 seonsors would hurt fuel mileage. They all do the same thing

there may be a leak around the sensor they put incorrectly, 14 mpg is terrible should be around 18 or higher

Bosch and Standard brand sensors have terrible quality control, if they make their own stuff. If a sensor is quirky, or off in its voltage just a little bit, it can bring down your overall power and gas mileage without causing much, if any, drive-ability problems.

There have been a few instances where Bosch takes a NTK sensor or Denso sensor and simply rebrands it, and resells it. However, most of the time, this is not the case.

NTK or Denso are the best to get usually. Rock Auto usually has them, and at very decent prices.

EDIT: Question for you norma_jeam, sensor 2 usually means that its behind the catalytic converter. If that is the case, this sensor usually has no effect on fuel efficiency, as its only job is to tell the truck's computer whether or not the converter is doing its job or not. Is this sensor before or after the converter?

Jason, thank you for explanation, yes it is after the cat, and i think that i have good reasoning to show that it is messing with gas mileage as it all started with my original O2 sensor going, then the first shop jamming the wrong sensor in. Then meineke swept me off my feet with the inclination that i could get 2-3 mpgs better, but that clearly was not the case.

I also remember you saying a while ago about bosch spark plugs, being bad, looks like ill never being buying that brand again ever. ill pick up an NKT one after i get home from vacation in two weeks
