I think he meant pictures of your truck.

And I assume you're the original owner of the 07?

Wouldn't the more sensable thing be to find a nice 2nd gen and trade your '07 back to it? If you liked them better, then just buy one. I just don't see how it would ever look good putting the gen 2 bed on the newer truck. The body lines are just so different.

Like I said, the lifetime warranty is why. Here's a pic of the truck. As for the lines being too different - don't be so sure. Here's a pic of what gave me the idea in the first place, a 1972 C10 with a 1990's bed on it....

X2 and be aware of: any aftermarket upgrade could void your factory warranty

That doesn't make any sense. The Gen 2 bed was made by Dodge, not an aftermarket company. Also, what does a body piece have to do with the powertrain or it's warranty for that matter?

Finally, following that logic, if a car is in an accident and a body repair shop replaces a fender with an aftermarket reproduction, would that mean that the car's powertrain warranty is voided?

I'm guessing no.

They have there ways to get out of lifetime warrantys and any little thing that goes wrong they will immediately point towards anything that you changed. And putting a gen 2 bed on a 3 they would be all over that.

My brother has an '08 Ram with factory 20's. He has the lifetime powertrain warranty as well. He wanted swap to the factory 18" wheels that the Dakotas came with (like I have) but stick with the same overall height tire that the 20's had. He called the dealership and asked about it and was told it would void his warranty. Factory part or not it was a different size. They told him he could change the wheels as long as they were still the same size and the tire size was the same. So that's what he ended up doing.

Maybe its just me, but that 72 looks terrible with that bed.
