Hello all Ive been using Mobil 1 5w30 extended mileage. Changing every 5000 miles. runs great oil not to dirty when changing. went to local walmart they were out so I purchased Mobil 2 high mileage 5w30. I was wondering how many miles can i go before next oil change. I was thinking keep it the same 5000 miles what do you guys think and how many miles do you all drive before oil changes Thanks

the gold one that can go for "15,000" miles? I run any 5w-30 Full Synthetic, usually Valvoline and I change it between 5-6k miles. If I bought that Mobil 1 extended performance I would comfortably change it at 8k. Just check oil levels frequently in case a top off is needed

I never go over 6k/6 months between changes running synthetic. Depends on your driving habits.

I usually do 5000 to 6000 miles. I shoot for 5000, and if its not convenient to do it that weekend, I wait. Usually end up doing it around the 5200-5500 mile mark. With my first oil changes of the Dakota, and then the Jeep, I switched from Mobil 1 (what I had used in past vehicles) to Penzoil Ultra.

I use regular Mobil 1, change it every 6 months regardless of mileage...keeps the number of warming cycles on the oil to a relative constant.
