I have recently noticed that when I brake it doesn't slow down smoothly. It feels as if you re pushing and releasing the brake pedal. It is like grabbing and letting go on its own.
Mine does the same thing, or at least it feals jitery when slowing down. I plan on taking the slip yoke off and cleaning/regreasing for a start. Of course this is all when it gets warm out. Take a gander at this: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...er-a-stop.html I think its possible link to what I am talking about and maybe what you are experiencing as well.

These are the exact symptoms I have had when mine act up. It always ended up being the rear drums are warped or getting out of round. I do not have any shimmy of any type in the steering wheel and but the overall feel of the truck when braking is that I'm modulating the brake pedal when I'm not. Actually feels like I am pumping the brakes slightly. Can even notice the bed in the rear view mirror oscillating some.
Was just ranting about this in another thread. Dodge repalced my drums at 8k miles and just turned them again at 20k miles on my 2011 Dakota. I had an 05 model and had the drums and axles replaced a few times under warranty for the same issue.

I created that thread and although the issue I was having is fixed, I can tell my rotors are due for a replacement with somewhat similar symptoms. This problem is definitely not a slip yoke issue.
