2005 clutch pedal problem(Need help please)
First time post here, hoping to find an answer. Just changed the clutch in my 2005 Dodge Dakota 4.7 4x4 quadcab. I have no pressure (0%) in my shift pedal. I took the transmission out to check the clutch fork and throwout bearing which were correctly installed ( In my opinion). So I belive its the slave cylinder and read you cant bleed them. So i read online where you can put the slave cylinder above the master and push the pedal in on the slave slowly and bubbles will come out of the reservoir. Still not working. I also read you need the pedal facing towards the ground when you do this which I dint do. Any ideas or suggestions? The slave cylinder and master worked fine before I changed the clutch.
Thanks Jeremy
Thanks Jeremy
One would think that to help encourage the air out of the system, slave should be below the master to let gravity help the fluid move towards the slave cylinder.
Question. Is the pedal up all the way? If for some reason it isn't, the port could be blocked and not allowing the fluid to move.

@Locatus The pedal is all the way up. It said something about where air can hide in the slave cylinder. I will post the link up and see what it says. @ Jaded (The clutch]/slave cylinder assembly on 05+ Rams and Dakotas (maybe older too) is one piece and is assembled, filled and bled at the factory.According to Dodge, this unit cannot be serviced and must be replaced whole. Also, there is no factory procedure for this system. ) This is where i read about my problem. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...utch-assy.html Still Thinking about all what it could be. If i needed to bleed the clutch would i still get a little bit of pedal? Thanks for the replies. What should I try to do first. Could it be a backwards clutch disk?

If the slave doesn't move, or if it's very weak, you'll need to determine is it's the master or the slave (you can pressure test the system to see if the master actually creates & holds the required pressure). If it's either cylinder, I believe you'll need to replace the one that's shot - these days, all those things are throw-away items. You can find yourself an older style that is bleedable and repairable, but you'd probably need to make yourself a mounting adapter.
There is a tiny orifice where the cable joins. (it's two pieces) and that traps the bubbles from coming through.... Peice of crap design. Ive had to replace mine after I pushed the pedal thru the floor in a panic stop.
