NAPA Sway Bar Link Rusted n Replacing Tie Rod End
I have had a squeak when going over bumpy roads in the front and rear. I tried to narrow down the front for now since I purchased the truck 2 months ago. I replaced the Sway Bar Links with NAPA parts. Had to change the front brakes due to the dealer putting crappy brakes on. Noticed my Tie Rod End boot was ripped in half on the passenger side. This is the side where the squeak is coming from.. Would this cause a squeak? I noticed on the driver side they changed the tie rod end with a NAPA part because of the blue boot, should I keep the new tie rod end that wasn't replaced NAPA? I was going to buy MOOG but my OCD might bother me... Anyways. I put the sway bar links on about 1 month ago. I noticed the top bushing on the passenger side boot is starting to rip where it is fussed together, I didn't over tighten is I did it to OEM specs. Also the Sway Bar links have rust spots all over them already, I got the ones with a lift time warranty, Would you have them replace them? How does the NAPA life time warranty work, take them off and bring them to the store for replacement??
As a NAPA employee, I can say that your store will probably want a receipt or some proof of purchase before they honor the lifetime warranty. Other than that, simply bringing the old part in and exchanging it should suffice.
Thats exactly how we do it in NAPA store. Unless your a pretty common regular we just ask for a reciept. I replaced mine with the better ones from work and just had to warranty them due to being loose. Wouldnt have had a problem with em but I never bothered to grease them over the year.
