Default 9ASCAP and P0457

Soooo... I have the 9ASCAP message and the P0457 code. The 0457 code is a loose gas cap code. I've bought a new cap and also I've tried the OEM one that I took off shortly after buying the truck to fix this damn thing. I've cleared the code and briefly checked the filler tube for cracks and yet it comes back. Any advice on a common location in the evap system that fails that I'm missing? Yes I posted this on FB too and I need to look at the canister connections, but I am looking for any other advice. Could it be a connection at the purge solenoid or the NVLD Pump? Tell me your opinions!

I've been fighting this problem for awhile as well. Some input would be awesome to have.

So I looked over everything and could not find any cracks or wanna be holes, etc I am not sure why I didnt originally do this, but I unhooked the battery for a bit and such to reset the computer. Well, I hooked it all back up, and started her up and the message is gone. I have had 3 additional key starts and everything is clear still. I am going to chalk this up to a faulty gas cap like the truck was telling me. The new locking gas cap is working well and is of better quality than the one I had... I'll stick with SLANT over CST

So, an update... a few days after I posted above, the CEL popped back on with a new code P0440 - General Evap System Error... I fought with it for a week trying to track it down, I checked all the hoses and such and didnt find the issue. I thought it was either a pinhole leak or one of the components. Well I took it to the dealer and the NVLD Pump was/is bad. $240 later for the diagnostic, pump, and labor and the truck will be done today. Its an easy fix to do. Its right on top of the tank near the left rear tire. The pumps are are not to expensive either; however I dont have to time to do it and this will guarantee its the issue. I felt that was fair and it gives me peace of mind knowing if it isnt the issue then I can be all WTF? with them; however, of all the dealerships, these guys have always been top notch and honest with everything. Figured I would let anyone with a similar issue know my results.

How cheap is "not expensive?" Does anyone know the part number? These are the CEL codes I have and I already replaced my gas cap. I haven't had a chance to take a look at the NVLD pump yet.
