Leaf Spring Cracked off! ( foot and half ) pics *+ discuss
thanks.
220 a side part Installed.
The sound is actually post - engine swap.
so I believe it would have something to do with the new parts swapped in. The engine i bought had manifolds attached and they were left on/remained during swapping.
the sound is like a heavy urrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rolling off the back of tongue...like an exhaust pipe with a hole in it i guess...
i tried recording it but the element noises are too high+engine+winds...
another noise that seems odd is a heavy HUMMING like a wind tunnel when driving on highway ...like a jet plan or sonmething..
I will inspect all the wheels , I will have to jack the car up and remove them to check the pads / rotors / shoes?

WOW
you recall I was saying that the shop over filled my engine with oil?
Well I only just got the chance to check how much it was over filled
there was an additional 5 quarts.
it filled up my entire drain pain.
to get it to the safety mark
they obviously didn't drain it and refilled it
if that's even possible
or are just retarted and put in 10 quarts- I AM PISSED I am going up there tomorrow and demanding for the money I had to pay for diagnosis at Dodge after they failed to plug in vacume hose and ground wires and notice loose fuel injection cable.
IS IT even possible to hold that much oil??? its DOUBLE?!? that pan is an 8 litre pan I am pretty sure and now my dipstick is just at the safe zone, it was about 2 inches above how much damage is done??? this has been for almost 3 weeks
I took picutres of my brake/rotors/paads aswell with the wheel on, it looks like its metal on metal?? rust on the wheel drum/cylinder, ( excuse my lack of knowledge.
AND my front suspension for you too look at.
I did an inspection all under my truck along the exhaust it seems fine..
the gaskets for the manifolds look toast too mee..

I am going to have to tell them I am bringin my truck to DODGE to have a complete service and diagnostics of everything and inspection and tune up and flush / oil change,. EVERYTHING crankcase replaced , DOUBLE the amount of oil, ****ING RETARDS?!?!?!
and if they never drained the oil to do the engine swap then they ****ing mixed synthetic and there dirt motor oil
or if that's impossible to do an engine swap withoguht changing oil then it was delivered with oil aalready in it then they filled it up again or they ****ing just double filled it ??

It is possible to put a LOT of oil into an engine, but at some point, you'll start to do damage - especially if you fill it enough for each of the con-rods on the crank to smack into the oil as it rotates. You can also blow various seals, etc. It's too bad you didn't have Dodge do the oil change when you had it there - you can't really prove that the garage did that at this time, the proof is all in your pan. It's really smart to check every thing over before you accept a vehicle from a garage, no matter how much you trust the shop or mechanic.
With the caliber of help they hire at some garages, it's very possible for them to double fill. My take on it would be that they did drain the old oil & then added the prescribed amount - then went outside for a smoke. When the so-called mechanic came back, he didn't remember what he'd done and added another prescribed measure. There's your double fill.
You picture of the brakes doesn't show me much. If you want to take those pictures, you need a blow up of the business end of the brakes. The rotor looks scored, but I can't tell for sure due to the size of the pic. You need to lift the front so you can jerk and shake the wheels and then give each one a good spin back and forth and see how it all feels - you're looking for loose joints and a "non smooth" feeling to the spin. Then you should really pop the wheels off to have a close look at the rotor & pads.
Pictures of the suspension are almost impossible to diagnose unless there's obvious damage - that's an inspection where you really need to be there to do it, and the "jerking & shaking" helps you make the determination how good things like your ball joints and steering joints are. Don't rely on remote diagnosis by picture, you need to get a feel for good & bad by putting your hands on.
Pictures of the manifold gasket also don't show much - you need to use the process I described and find the leak, then you can take a picture of the whole area and one where you zoom into the problem. So, get a piece of hose to fit your ear and go sleuthing for noise - just don't get caught in the fan while you're doing it. Without the hose or tube, you should be able to pick a rough area where the sound is coming from, that's why you need more than 1 person for this chore because you can't zero in on it if you're in the drivers seat.

now that i have this on my mind about the oil being double filled. i am going to go there and attempt to have them pay for the daignostics fee i had dodge do and find the unplugged vacume hose that they " checked " AAND were sure it wasnt.
as well i will keep the oil as a smoking gun.
lol
furious
is it posssible that they didint drain it?? and now there is my synthetic oil plus motor oil?
sorry about the pictures - i thought you could tell if the gasket was burnt up or falling down..
and too me the brake pad appears to be rust color...indicating metal on metal.
I am sure my front suspension is fine! just getting it out there to see if anyone could point anything that needs to payed attention too.
I think i located the noise, i took my video camera and recorded down by each side an moved i at around then i put it on computer and waatched it through my tv with the volume right up .. and down low bottom right ( steering column sound ) i could hear a faint ticking
and oh ya! the proof + 3 previous oil changes are going to be in there front ****ing hallway pretty soon

They could have poured new over top of old, it's hard to tell. If the filter is new, I'd suspect my double fill scenario. The mixing of synthetic with non synthetic is not disastrous, the overfill can be. If you still have that stuff you drained, you can have it tested for particulates to see if there's anything to really worry about or if you want to start thinking about that warranty you have.
well the warranty is good for a year.
so I am going to just go the easy way and get a garage to do a inspection on the engine/cylinders/gaskets/pistons
for the noise, I just had to do on wheel cylinder, again, and a brake line ( the metal piece )
I got them to listen to the noise for a second, with the truck up in the air. one guy suggested it could be a seal somewhere between the manifold and the cat? on one of the parts between those two involved with the exhaust.
HA I went to the shop with the photo of the oil, first went in there to see if they could squeeze me in to do the wheel cylinder and they said they didn't have time, then I said well did you guys know you over filled my engine with double the amount of oil? and he said that's impossible, i offered your theory about a guy popping out for a smoke and forgetting and double filling it.
wouldn't own up to it,
eitherway i have diagnostic printout from technicians report from dodge about the unplugged wires and fuel injector cable.
he tried to say well maybe if that's the case - gas was mixing in to the oil
I don't think it would have leaked that much ,seeing howthe level hadn't moved up in 3 weeks on the dip stick, and the oil would be a lot more thinned out.
I am going to write a proper -formal letter citing for them to pay me for the $411 bill i had from dodge after i brought it to them - and possibly even for the full refund of the labor for the engine swap. . if not i will be taking them to small claims court.
going to think about it a bit more..cant let people get away with this stuff forever. someone has to do something.
should own up to there mistakes.
hopefully he flipped out at one of his guys that work for him none the less. and sent them home.
another question
anyone ever put air lift air ride suspension in there Dakotas?
