Default 2007 Dakota Wiper issue

My wipers will go from delay to low setting, while on the low setting, by themselves. How do I know to replace the motor vs the multifunction switch?

Unless proven otherwise, it is the switch. Dodge, maybe others too, have trouble with these switches. There is so much going on in that small space, they tend to overheat and fail. I found one at the U-Pull yard. You have to pull the steering wheel to replace, because the switch has a ring that goes around the column, I guess for strength.

This is not exactly related, but when I turn my truck on, tne wipers go up and down once. Even with the switch off. Sometimes it doesn't happen. Any ideas? sorry to hijack.. I'm thinking maybe the switch is weird
