There are boot kits that come in two pieces so you dont have to take the axle out. Don't know how good they are though.
They suck. It's pretty much impossible to keep the seam free of grease while you're installing them. And if you get grease on it, the glue won't stick.
There are also boots that stretch over the joint and don't require disassembly, but they're a little more expensive and you need a special tool to install them.
I would just replace the whole axle.
